SHORT NARRATIVE

Set in the near future, people have stopped talking because of an oppressive government surveillance system. Tom is a Spotter-- a criminal who locates blank spots in the government's surveillance grid system. The blank spots are used to organize meetings for illicit business transactions -- cash exchange, drug running, human trafficking, prostitution. Spotters are discovered through the criminal-underworld's grapevine; and anyone who can afford it can obtain their services.

Tom gets hired by Beck to locate blank spots enabling her to flee the city to a community that lives outside of the government surveillance grid. As Tom experiences life in this underground location away from the rest of society, he begins to gain a new perspective on the world around him. This perspective is quickly shattered by a government raid leaving Tom with a decision of how he will carry on with his life.
