FEATURE NARRATIVE

In this Southern Gothic tale, starring male supermodel-turned-actor Mitchell Slaggert, 'Moss' is a road movie on a river about a young man who disappears into the woods on his eighteenth birthday to find himself.

Moss’s mother died delivering him, and his father has never recovered. His dad, Ray, a retired veteran-turned-outsider-artist always feels bittersweet at best on Moss’ birthday – as it also represents the anniversary of his beloved wife’s death.

In a bid to “downgrade” the day, instead of celebrating, he tries to send Moss on a long trip to his maternal grandmother’s house to deliver some medication to his Grammas. Ray and Moss get into a fight – Moss is ready to be his own man and chafes under his father’s distance and his authority. Nonetheless, he gives in and starts the long trek through the Carolina woods to her house.

A modern-day fable set in rural North Carolina, Moss reveals the struggles of lives deeply connected to nature.
