Filmmaker Anne Lewis, a senior lecturer with the Department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas in Austin, has practiced the art of documentary filmmaking since 1968. "Morristown" comes out of her association with Appalshop Films of Whitesburg, Kentucky, a national media arts and cultural center in the central Appalachian coalfields. It is the culmination of her work based on working class communities in the Appalachian region. The piece looks across national as well as racial, ethnic, and class boundaries to provide a working class perspective on globalization. It is in English with Spanish subtitles. Dirk Powell scored the film. The filmmaker is expected to be in attendance at the festival.
