“SHOT: Caught a Soul" received awards, such as the “Black Lives Matter” Film Award at Barcelona International Film Festival, Auber International Film Award Finalist, Madrid Film Festival Semi-finalist, Austin Film Arthouse Finalist and ‘Official Selection’ from Paris to New York to Cannes film festivals.
The murder of Black people with impunity is a tradition in far too many countries. America has a tradition of these murders that spans hundreds of years.
This film was created during a pandemic of Covid-19 and murder after racialized murder of Black people.
Using Zoom, director Bobby Field has used this experimental platform to create a new artform we call a zoomie. A zoomie is a nexus between theater and a movie.
