FEATURE DOCUMENTARY

This documentary introduces Nadia upon a stretch of her journey, cycling with her partner Sébastien around the world, trading their art in exchange for their livelihood.

Director's Statement:

¡La Macha! is a film about the essence of life. At the beginning of the story, the spectator discovers an artist who travels, Nadia a painter, who loves her freedom and recognizes that her greatest wealth is that of "having time". We then understand that she has been traveling like this for 10 years with little or no money, bartering her food, accommodation and other services with paintings. She is now accompanied by her partner Sébastien (for 4 years). The story is built in a crescendo: we gradually enter the heart of the action, in the intimacy of the characters, of the meetings, also revealing that Nadia, tired, is at a crossroads, while Sébastien, carries within him the desire. strong to continue on his way. The end of the film reveals the couple and a certain opposition: Sébastien, former entrepreneur, in his difficulty in living without money, in adapting to this way of life at times, while Nadia has the absolute confidence in herself that everything comes at the right time. A lifestyle that inspires dreams, brings happiness, but which is certainly not always easy for the couple. Go or stay? The decision seems less easy to make than before for Nadia for whom the mantra "to leave" has always been.

This story intertwines three stories: that of Nadia, Sébastien and the couple. The narrative framework (in audio) addresses their philosophy of life, their deep values through themes such as: freedom, wealth, materiality, nomadism, community, environmental awareness, the present moment, etc.
