A retiring clown finds himself confined to his apartment. Ravaged by hunger and boredom, he tries to satisfy his various appetites. After hitting his nose on an empty fridge, a predictable fall on a slippery banana peel pushes him towards his last visceral urges. The overwhelmed clown will seek a way out, among a relentless cycle of forced jokes. Monsieur Sachet is a wicked escalation of tragicomic anecdotes happening in a colorful, crazy and completely absurd atmosphere.
Director's Biography:
Mathieu Girard is an independent animation filmmaker and a visual artist from Quebec, Canada. He has received several research and creation grants from the CALQ and the Canada council for the arts. He focused his first years has a student on cartoon animation only to segue in media and visual arts studies in UQAM where his interest for stop-motion animation and pixilation were truly born. His films have been shown in exhibitions and festivals in more twenty countries around the world. Involved at all stages of production, he favors an artisanal approach to cinema. He is also an Illustrator, having produced a children's book, a series of books showcasing photo editing techniques, a graphic novel and various posters for music bands.
