Director's Bio

After completing studies in film direction at L’inis, Sophie won the Desjardins Radio-Canada grant for making the documentary "Dimanche nous verrons" in Belgium. She received SODEC funding for writing her feature film "Pyjama". In 2013 she directed a thriller short film named "Chaloupe", which has been selected in numerous festivals in Canada and internationally and received a Jutra nomination in addition to winning several awards (Best Screenplay Award at SPASM, Best Actor Award at the Festival Vitesse Lumière, Post Moderne award Gala "Prends ça court" and more).

At the 12th edition of the DocuMenteur festival, Sophie won the jury prize for their pseudo-documentary "Privé". As part of Montreal’s 375th anniversary, she co-directed "Aspirations", a short produced in collaboration with Montreal’s higher schools of art association. Her latest short film, HEARTH, is a suspense tinged with dark humour.
