The Hills I Call Home is an exploration into the town of Beattyville, a rural settlement located deep in the heart of the American Appalachian mountains. Though it's one of America's poorest towns - it's home to a tight-knit community who binds together to push through hard times.

Director Biography

Ashton Gleckman is a twenty-year-old filmmaker from Indianapolis, Indiana. His first film was the Holocaust documentary, We Shall Not Die Now, which premiered at the Heartland International Film Festival in 2019. Aside from making films, Ashton also enjoys composing music and hosting the “Behind the Score” series on YouTube.
