Director Biography

Jacqueline Michel is Anishinaabe. She was born in Senneterre on August 27, 1966. She’s been collaborating with Wapikoni since 2014. Her goal is to show the world the beauty of Anishniaabe culture. As one of the rare Indigenous actresses in Quebec, Jacqueline hopes to be the voice and embodiment of Indigenous women on screen. As a true cultural ambassador, she is full of projects including several shorts. Her film Mahiganiec (Baby Wolf) was shown in France, New York and South Korea.
