Director Biography

Francine Hébert has been working in the film and television industry since 2002. As a Director and documentary scriptwriter, she finds inspiration in stories filled with humanity, while touching on broader contemporary social issues. She directed her first documentary, "Cafeteria", in 2015 with the National Film Board of Canada. In 2018, she directed "Noah, 18 years old", produced by Spira film and FICFA. Both short documentaries received the Best French-Canadian film prize at the Rendez-Vous Québec Cinéma in Montreal, amongst other prizes. Other official selections include the Oscar recognized Festival REGARD, FIN Atlantic International Film Festival, the Festival de cinema de la ville de Québec and the Percéides Film Festival, amongst others. "A Way of Being Together" is her third documentary, entirely self-produced and independently shot with an iPhone.
