A man practices ritual magic to cure his partner's cancer.
Under the tutelage of an eccentric hippie restaurateur and her messianic self-help guru, a young man sets out to master the occult magic of Enceladism in an effort to destroy the cancer that's killing his boyfriend.
Director's Bio
WRETCH is the first feature film from writer/director Matthew Dunehoo, a COTB alum. Matthew grew up in Kansas City, Missouri playing in bands and touring extensively in the late 90's/early 2000's. After moving to NYC in 2006, he pursued acting and theater studies, eventually joining SAG/AFTRA after making his network television debut on BLUE BLOODS with the RIVETING portrayal of "Homeless Man #2." Matthew also wrote his first works for the stage and directed actors for the first time with a small downtown theater company. Upon returning to Kansas City in 2013, he founded Elk's Pride Pictures, LLC to produce his own narrative film content and wrote, directed and produced five short films including NO MARGRETTES (starring Ellen Adair), and THE VETTING, which screened at COTB.
The director will attend the film screening.
