Artist Joseph Edgar heads out to explore the latest phenomenon of a new generation of French Acadian artists from Atlantic Canada. The young artists, with their various different musical styles are now influencing the evolution of music in North America and Europe. How can this new wave of Acadian music from such a cultural minority be explained?

Director's Bio

Acadian director Phil Comeau, a COTB alum, has directed documentary and drama films. His documentary features include Zachary Richard Cajun Heart, Secretariat’s Jockey Ron Turcotte, and The Nature of Frederic Back, all of which have screened at COTB and won awards here. His films have won over 90 awards at film festivals, and have been translated in over 20 languages. Phil Comeau has received the Order of Canada for his contribution to Acadian cinema.
